The creep strain rate and stress distribution of thick-walled cylinders under internal pressure at elevated temperature are obtained by use of the three-dimensional variational principle which takes into account the strain-hardening and the steady creep on the basis of the concept of dislocations. In the previous paper presented by other authors, this problem has been analysed under the assumption of plane-strain. But in this paper, it is analysed in case of the closed and open pipes without use of this assumption. After carrying out the numerical calculation by the computer, the distributions of the creep stress and strain rate in the wall are given as nondimensional quantities. As an example, the distributions of the creep strain-rate in the wall of open pipe are shown for aluminum alloy (75S-T6) as the paramaters of temperature and internal pressure.
