• Justice is one of the important concepts that require a serious consideration in the history of Greek thoughts. It is well known that the idea first assumed a concrete form in the works of Hesiod. His conception of justice, therefore, is supposed to have served a headspring for the trend of thoughts on this subject that runs from Solon and Aeschylus to Plato and Aristotle. In this paper an attempt is made to elucidate the integral and fundamental notions of justice as conceived by Hesiod, with special attention to the fact that he has deified it (.Theogony, vv. 901-3) as one of the Ωραι (Seasons). But the present article does not claim to have gained a thorough comprehension of justice that constitutes one of the most important ideas in Works and Days. My greatest concern was to point out, by way of introduction to the study of justice, that it contracts an intimate relation with such terms as Ωραι,ωραιο〓,〓αιρο〓 et μετρα whose meanings are reduced on the last analysis to <<iusta aetas>>, or that, conversely speaking, injustice was to be necessarily viewed, from his standpoint, as antiseasonableness (παρακαιρια).
