Low pressure pneumatic servos, if some unfavourable problems due to the low supply pressure are solved, will be used much wider in various fields. The lower is the supply pressure, the more favourable is the pneumatic servo especially, for example, at a clean room. The most important thing is to choose a least friction piston (ram) cylinder. We have employed a couple of glass medical injectors as the power cylinder. The friction force of the ram is very small as is desired. The working air is regulated by two proportional directional valves. In order to obtain the fairly high performance about the response time and the accuracy of positioning etc., a control method "PID" is applied to the servo. For the purpose of detecting the velocity of the liner displacement economically, we have fabricated a quasi differenciation circuit of OP amplifiers, whose output signal is found enough for the velocity feedback. The performance of step responce, that is, the stationary position error, the degree of overshoot etc., has been much improved by PI or PID, although some dead time is found.
