A Grammar-Driven translation for natural language is introduced, which is defined on the grammar G of type 0 languages, and a control set C and cotrol functions h_1,h_2. The control set is a set of knowledges which we can generate good target texts from a source text. Control functions are also translation knowledges. L(G, C, h_1,h_2) is a set of translated texts by G with C, and h_1 and h_2. It is sure that we have to provide flexibility, adaptability, expandability in the system, meanwhile we have to take into account the trade-off between the ease-of-development and flexibility, adaptability, and expandabilty of the system. In this paper we report a simple translation model to clear the adove conditions. The set of production rules is constructed from the syntactical definition for source and target language texts. It is essential that the construction of production rules is autmatically made from the syntactical definitions of source and target languages. With this property of the system, we can easily modify, for example, the English-to-Japanese translation system into the English-to Russian, for instance, translation system only by replacing the syntactical definitions of the target language from the Japanese by the Russian unless modifying the algorithm itself, and the control set and control functions.
