The relationship between the contact angle of the droplets on the insulation materials and its breakdown mechanism have been studied. The maximum breakdown voltage V_<s max> appeared at θ_c=70-80° of the contact angle θ of the droplets on the insulation materials. But the V_<s max> indicated to be lower than the spark voltage at the uniform field, and the breakdown voltage of the bounds of the both side in the θ_c indicated to the tendency lower than V_<s max>. A main factor of the breakdown mechanism between the two droplets divided in θ_c. Therefore, the breakdown which was made by the maxwell stress occurred at θ>θ_c and the breakdown which was made by the corona discharge occured at θ<θ_c. In the droplets of the contact angle lower than θ_c, the contact angle of the inner side of the droplets increased due to maxwell stress, but its field strength was relaxed and the breakdown voltage between the two droplets are indecated by the increased tendency. The discharge light appeared along the specimen surface at θ<θ_c and over the specimen surface at θ>θ_c. Therefore the influence on the degradation at the former will be larger than that the discharge occurr over the specimen surface.
