In order to investigate free amino acids in rice bran and amino acid composition of rice bran protein, calculation was made by using the chromatography on columns of ion exchange resins. The results were as follows. 1 Of free amino acids in rice bran, alanine is found especially in rich amount, next to alanine, leucine, serine, threonine, glutamic acid, valine ; essential amino acids and the rest of every kind are contained. 2 Of amino acids of rice bran protein, glutamic acid is found especially in rich amount ; and arginine, leucine, valine, aspartic acid, tyrosine, alanine, glycine, isoleucine, phenylalanine, serine, lysine, proline, tryptophan, methionine, histidine, and threonine decrease in amount in regular order ; cystine is found especially in small amount.
