Low reactive level laser treatment (LLLT) is an up to date method to treat chronic pain, primarily because it utilises noninvasive stimulation. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence on the peripheral nervous system of low level laser stimulation. We measured the sensory nerve conduction velocity (SCV) of the median nerve and the skin temperature before and after stimulation on Goukoku (Acupuncture point) and the median nerve. We could not obtain any significant difference in pre-and post-SCV and temperature in 8 healthy volunteers. This demonstrates that LLLT has no influence on peripheral nervous activity.
