In order to prevent loss of saccharifying power of diastase in preparing diastase tablets, effect of temperature and moisture was examined. It was found that the selection of salts to be compounded is important, as well as using minimum amount of water in granulation and drying at as low a temperature as possible to prepare granules. Tabletting should be made with the smallest possible press and the presence of talc seemed to be undesirable.
