By means of a twin-type conduction calorimeter, heat of solution of inorganic electrolytes and sodium dodecyl sulfate (S.D.S.) has been determined. Preliminary, the habit of apparatus has been examined by measuring the heat of solution of potassium chloride, potassium nitrate and sodium nitrate. The results were always 3∿7% lower than values given in the literature. The heats of solution of S.D.S. have been measured in the concentration range 1×(10)^<-3>∿4×(10)^<-2> mole/liter at 25°and 30℃, and the values were 6.4 to 6.6kcal/mole at 25℃ and 6.6 to 6.8 kcal/mole at 30℃ in the higher concention than the critical micellar concentration. It appeared to be remarkable change at the concentration near 8×(10)^<-3> mole/liter which is the critical micellar concentration. At the low concentration ((10)^<-3>mole/liter), heat of solution was observed 7.8 and 8.3kcal/mole at 25°and 30℃ respectively. Although an attempt was made to measure the heat of dilution of S.D.S., but the satisfactory reproducibility and reliance on the values were not obtained.
