• It seems that there exist discrepancies between the chronology of the ancient Chinese history of Chu Dynasty and the date of the total eclispe predicted by Oppolzer and others. Recent discovery of the archeological materials in the north western part of China reveals the necessity of imminent readjustment of the facts which have been hitherto regarded as established and to examine in details the roots of discrepancies. I have tried in this paper to make clear the matter as far as possible, expecting that any discovery of the archeological materials utterly new will solve these questions.
