In Japan, general purpose induction motors have to be applied for multi-ratings (for 50 [Hz]-200 [V], 60 [Hz]-220 [V], 60 [Hz]-200 [V]) and used for multi-purpose. So, at the chance of repairs when the induction motor has been burned, we are able to improve rating or efficiency by rewinding the stator coil for definite use and rating, because there is some margin in this motor. In this article, a design method for improving a burned induction motor is treated by touching upon the design of stator coil. The improving design can be made out along the following user's needs : i) minimization of repairing cost. ii) minimization of running cost (improving of efficiency). iii) maximization of output power (improving of rating).
