After high-level economic growth, while foreign wood has been dominant in the market, domestic wood has been suffering setback. But in some mountainous regions they continue forestation. The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between the utilization of forest land and the regional factor especially the types of forestry. To answer the purpose, we did two method; principal component analysis and cluster analysis. There has been steady increase in forestation in the newly-planted zone and decrease in the advanced forestation zone. In former they have actively modified the necessary conditions of forestation, such as machine, forest path and contract for the Bunshu-Keiyaku, to overcome the disadvantage.
