Characteristics of sounds including music and natural sounds are investigated in terms of 1/f fluctuations with respect to their frequency and audio power variations with time. Many sounds are picked out by using a CD player and the audio part of a video camera, transfered to a personal computer via the audio signal capture board, and analyzed with a FFT algorithm. It is shown that (1) sounds and music people feel confortable in general have 1/f type spectral distributions, (2) a spectrum inclination factor γ keeps constant for the analytical parameter of time division intervals less than 0.3 sec, (3) for the sound with a 1/f fluctuation its spectrogram has remarkable structures in the frequency and time domains.
