For the measurement of mechanical equivalent of heat (J), we performed an experiment on the measurement of temperature. The temperature rise of a falling substance shows the thermal energy which is transformed from gravitational potential energy. The temperature was recorded on the vertical axis and time horizontally. As the temperature curve contains effuent heat, the curve must be corrected. Then the temperature was graphically corrected and the value of "J" was calculated.
