In the first year of Kooh, 1389,Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, third shogun of the Muromachi goverment, set out on a trip to Shikoku and the Chugoku disstrict, Western Honshu, paying a special visit to the Itsukushima Shrine. Imagawa Ryoshun, Chief Commissioner of Kyushu, attending the shogun on the trip, wrote Rokuon'in-dono Itsuhushima-mode-ki, as an account of their trip. This work seeks to show its high literary flavour, comparing all the details of this work with those of Rokuon'in Saigoku-geko-hi, another account of the same trip written by Mototsuna who accompanied the shogun as well.
