X-ray calorimeter and Diode-array coupled time-resolved transmission grating spectrometer (DATTS)

X-ray calorimeter : A high-sensitive, filtered X-ray calorimeter was developed and was used for measurements of sub-keV radiation energy from laser-produced plasmas. The sensitivities of calorimetric sensors were accurately calibrated by a pulsed laser. The results obtained by this calorimeter were discussed comparing with that simultaneously obtained by other X-ray diagnostics. DATTS : A sub-keV x-ray spectrometer with adequate time resolution is developed. It consists of biplanar x-ray diodes and a transmission grating. This instrument is used to measure transient soft x-ray spectra from laser-produced plasmas. The intrinsic temporal resolution of the instrument is 140 psec, and the measured spectral range is 0.1-1.2 keV with four spectral windows. The performance of the spectrometer is demonstrated by measurements of the soft x-ray spectra from Au plasmas produced by 530 nm laser light. The results are compared with the x-ray spectra measured simultaneously by filtered x-ray diodes.
