For many people the word "midlife" has quite negative connotations. It is often paired with the word "crisis," suggesting that at this stage of life there are many anxieties about the future, health, job, marriage and so on. For other people however, this stage of life can be very liberating. In this paper we will discuss a new type of fairy tales called "middle tales," how they relate to midlife, what they mean and then take an indepth look at one of these stories called "Destiny."
