It has been known that when micro deep hole machining was carried out by EDM using a rotation of electrode, the aspect ratio never exceeded 20 because of piling-up of the eroded particles in the arc gap. In this paper, a new method is proposed obtaining the aspect ratio over 20 by EDM using a intermittent jumping. Experiments showed that the depth of the micro deep hole increased with the increase of the intermittent jumping of the electrode and the aspect ratio reached utmost value over 30.
