In order to evaluate whether a solid rocket motor is stable or not, measurement of combustion response function of solid propellants is required. Among various measuring methods of combustion response function of solid propellants, the pulsed E0125LE0124^* burner method proposed by the authors is a simple and convenient one which is effective in the low frequency range (∿200Hz). However, the above end-burning type pulsed E0125LE0124^* burner can not be used for aluminized solid propellants because a large amount of alumina (combustion product of aluminum) adheres to the nozzle wall surface during operation. In this study, a side-burning type pulsed E0125LE0124^* burner, in which attachment of alumina is suppressed as much as possible by minimizing the heat loss of combustion products, was newly developed to measure the frequency response of aluminized propellants. At the same time, further reduction in chamber free volume was achieved by adopting an external mechanism which can change the nozzle area in a pulse-like manner. This external mechanism enabled to introduce several pulses successively in one experiment. Combustion response function of the aluminized composite solid propellants BP-204J was measured with this successively pulsed E0125LE0124^* burner. The results showed that reproducible data containing sufficient non-steady burning effect can be obtained much easier compared with the previous method of pulsed E0125LE0124^* burner even for aluminized solid propellants, and dispersion of measured values is comparatively small.
