Sraffa's book, "Production of Commodities by Means of Commodities", has produced a powerful effect on the understanding of Marx's economic theory. The close connection between Marx and Sraffa is especially evident in the problem of "transformation of values into prices of production". Since Sraffa's system of the "production equations" or his "Standard system" is a system of equal rate of profit, it has, economically and formally, many characteristics in common with Marx's theory of "price of production". On the other hand, there is a view which regards the "transformation problem" as "peripheral issues", and considers the "capitalist exploitation" only within the framework of price theory, rejecting the existence of labour values. Arun Bose develops this view, using the cocepts and analytical tools in Sraffa's book. He claims the true "reconciliation of Marx and Sraffa", which is not a superficial reconciliation as in Meek. In this paper, I will examine his "Marx on Exploitation and Inequality", and make his view clear.
