The compatibility of the spinning rotor gauge (SRG) with tritium handling systems was examined. Namely, the stability of the off-set value of the SRG was carefully measured before and after tritium exposure upto 2 × 10^5 Pa.s over a period of two years. It was found that the off-set value was kept constant at (3.40 ± 0.04) × 10^<-4> Pa throughout the present study. It means that there is no measurable β-ray effect on the pressure measurement using SRG. In addition, it was also found that the absolute pressure of mixture gases including tritium can be precisely measured with SRG if the relative molecular weight of the gas, defined as √<M>_<rel> = ΣX_i √<M>_i, is determined with some analytical tools such as mass spectrometer. Because of these facts as well as its simple construction, long term stability, accuracy in wide pressure range, and potential as the absolute pressure gauge, it is quite usefel to tritium handling systems including thermonuclear fusion devices as a transfer standard and/or absolute pressure gauge.
