A 600 kV Marx generator installed in a completely coaxial form is developed. The structure reduces the internal induct-ance down to about 80 nH and hence makes it possible to produce high intensity relativistic electron beams of several kA when applied to a field emission type electron gun. The system has a remarkably compact size of the full length 1400 mm and the diameter 250 mm. The rise time of the output voltage pulse is less than 10 nsec.
