POLOIDAL ROTATION OF MAGENTIC FLUCTUATIONS IN REVERSED FIELD PINCH PLASMA

In Reversed Field Pinch (RFP), the poloidal rotation of magnetic fluctuations with m=1,|n|=5-12,where m and n are poloidal and toroidal mode numbers, is observed by measurements of magnetic probes and streak photographs. The rotation starts immediately after the RFP configuration set up and the rotation frequency increases as the RFP configuration evolves. In the quiescent period, the rotation frequency is kept almost constant. Its value is about 100kHz. In the final phase of the quiescent period, however, the rotation is accelerated again.
