A runaway current concentrating in the central region has stabilizing effects on kink and tearing instabilities on the basis of a model in which the runaway current is assumed rigid. The Kruskal-Shafranov limit (ı(a)=ı_σ(a)+ı_B(a)≤1) disappears for ı_σ(a)≲0.2 in the case of parabolic profiles of both the runaway current and the conduction current. Here ı_σ(a) is a rotational transform due to the conduction current and ı_B(a) is a rotational transform due to the runaway current.
