Ion cyclotron resonance plugging and heating of cusped plasma is experimentally investigated. A helium plasma is steadily fed from one of point cusps into the containment region whose density is varied from 1×10^8 to 1×10^<11>cm^<-3>. With a plugging rf electric field of 100V/cm, it is found that 97% of the line-cusp loss is blocked at the ion cyclotron resonance condition and that the mean energy of contained ions attained as large as 40eV. For the line-cusp loss, good plugging is observed for the density up to 1×10^<11>cm^<-3>, but for the point-cusp loss it is limited to the density below 1×10^<10>cm^<-3>. Heating of ions by electrostatic ion cyclotron wave is calculated taking into account the role of the nonuniformity of the magnetic field, and the comparison with the experimental results is discussed.
