• Extension of a theory of resonance probe has been undertaken to take into account of the finite transit time effect of electrons. The theory can predict the over-all frequency dependence of rectified electron current density of the resonance probe which has been discovered by Takayama and his collaborators. Furthermore, the various characteristics of the resonance probe observed by Cairns are shown to be consistent with the present theory.
