The effect of the strong interaction on the SU(2)XU(1) scheme for the unification of the weak and electromagnetic interactions is criticized from the point of view that the present widespread form of the neutral hadronic current is not necessarily compatible with the CVC theory. For a means of the resolution of the problem, the elastic cross-section of the longitudinally polarized electron scattered by the longitudinally polarized neucleon is calculated for the feasible kinematics; the results show that the detection of the effect of the strong interaction is rather difficult. It is pointed out that the framework of SU(2)XU(1) scheme itself in the leptonic sector may be checked in e^+e^- ⟶ μ^+μ^- experiments in near future.
