Two new species of cellular slime molds, Dictyostelium implicatum and D. crassicaule, collected in Japan are described. D. implicatum is characterized by the unique growth habit of the sorocarps becoming tangled each other in diffuse light, the taperpointed sorophore tips, and the relatively large spores. D. carssicaule is characterized by the small sorocarps, the thick sorophores and the capitate sorophore tips. The former species is common in the montane region, and the latter may be rare and restricted to the subalpine region.
