Buried terraces in the lower part of rivers are, so to speak fossil landforms formed during lower sea level period. Therefore they indicate former sea levels and sea-level changes during the Last Glacial period. A flight of terraces is seen in the lower Sagami Plain, and some of them can be traced into subsurface terraces buried with the Recent Deposits (chusekiso). This paper shows the recognition and distribution of buried terraces in the lower Sagami Plain by using borehole logs. On the basis of correlation of buried terraces with subaerial ones, this paper shows the landform change in the lower Sagami Plain since the marine oxygen isotope stages 5a to 1.
