Last December, the Central Education Council announced two reports. One is “Aiming at construction of the bachelor course education” . In this report, problems and measures are described about the guarantee of the education quality of the university faculty stage. Another one is “Enhancement of Technical Colleges” . In this report, various strategies are described for promoting education at the Technical Colleges as the higher education organization that trains practical and creative engineers, according to the social and economical changes. This paper gives outlines of these two reports, introductions about national policies for promoting engineering education by MEXT, and prospects for the technical education in the future.
