Influence of Deformation on Fission Yield in Selective Channel Scission Model

The fission yields for the neutron-induced fission of 235U were calculated by the selective channel scission model considering deformation of fission fragments with a deformation energy. The channel-dependent fission barrier was calculated from the deformation energy, Q-value, and Coulomb potential between the fragments for a fission channel. The fission yields derived from the penetrabilities of two-humped fission barriers were consistent quantitatively with experimental data. The discrepancies of the yields seen in previous analyses were removed by considering the deformation and a more realistic treatment of the fission potential with the two-humped barrier shape.
