This paper introduces the concept of smart packet protocol that can be used to support context-awareness of ubiquitous networks. Smart packet has a good feature of performing self-executable, self-configurable, and self-transferable functions. The frame format of the smart packet was designed, and an example of feasible scenario to apply the smart packet to the real world was also presented.
