In era of Ubiquitous Computing, human-friendly machine interface is getting more attention so as to offer people many convenient services. So, this paper proposed Half-mirror interface system as human-friendly machine system using face-gesture interface. Half-mirror interface system based on computer vision consists of several elements such as half-mirror, USB-camera, processing units and so on. This system has two operation modes in accordance with the condition that it receives facial information from USB-camera. One mode which is activated when there is no available information of facial expression provides function of mirror as well as several additional services. In another mode, Half-mirror is transformed into display device on which pictures are shown. For the interaction between user and half-mirror, Face-gesture provides human-friendly interface in which facial information such as eyes, mouth and directions of face is used as a role of cue. Throughout this paper, we verified the performance of face-gesture interface as an intermediation between users and the system.
