The proliferation of mobile devices and applications expected to work in dynamic environment makes current middleware system evolve. In ubiquitous computing, middleware should adjust to dynamic situation that represents the user's preference, the condition of system resources, and inferred information from history. Contextaware Middleware has to provide uniform development method for applications with balance between contextawareness and transparency. To support ubiquitous application developers, our middleware collects required context information, triggers middleware reconfiguration by well-defined context inference, and provides related services. In our middleware, inference engine is employed to provide application with proactive service, network, and system reconfiguration. By using proactive reconfiguration manner, we can construct more intelligent system and low delay for service. We've designed and implemented ADAM (Autonomic Distributed Adaptive Middleware) on the CORBA system. This paper describes of ADAM structure and some scenario-based demonstrations.
