We propose associative memories described by frustrated lattice gas (FLG). In our model system, each neuron is created or annihilated dynamically. Consequently, the network changes its structure from dense to sparse by controlling chemical potential. Retrieval phase diagrams of the system are drawn. We show that reaping the redundant neurons reduces frustration effectively and the storage capacity of the network increases.
