A hydrogen microprint technique was overviewed. Its optimal fixing process was discussed to improve the reproducibility and the spatial resolution of this technique. The examples of its application to the examination of hydrogen transport and hydrogen distribution in steels were introduced. Finally, its detection effi-ciency was quantitatively discussed.
