Towards better understanding of the reduction of iron oxide within blast furnace, a series of studies have been conducted. In this study, phase relationships for 4-phase assemblages of the system CaO-SiO2-MgO-FexO was investigated, in conjunction with the measurements of the activities of FexO via electrochemical technique incorporating magnesia-stabilized zirconia.
