In recent years, the quality and indeed the quantity of Japanese education has been severely harmed by the restrictive guidelines and curriculum, and poor textbook screening methods of an increasingly authoritarian educational system."The New Science Textbook for Junior High", is an excellent, very scientifically valid and useful set of three volumes which have not been screened by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. They have become very popular with the public because of their unaltered, accurate and easy to understand qualities. I highly recommend them as tools for increasing the level of scientific literacy in our country.
