The concept of electromagnetic environment and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is briefly described. A globalized trend in the 21th century EMC technology is reviewed from the following point of view : EMI (electromagnetic interference) reduction, immunity improvement, human safety evaluation of elecrtomagnetic fields and standardization of EMC measurement.
