In order to investigate the upgrading effects on static and impact resistant capacity for RC slabs due to mixing PVA short-fiber, static and falling-weight impact tests were conducted taking mixing fiber volume ratio Vf as variable. Here, in case of impact test, iterative and single loading way were applied using 300 kg steel weight. The results obtained from this study are as follows; 1) mixing PVA short-fibers, static and impact load carrying capacity of RC slabs can be upgraded due to bridge effects of the short fiber; 2) when the fiber mixing volume ratio Vf was increased by 1, 2, and 3 %, both static and dynamic load carrying capacity of RC slab will be improved by 1.1, 1.3, and 1.5 times respectively, with reference to that of plain one; 3) exfoliation of lower concrete cover can be restrained due to mixing PVA short fiber, even though RC slab was severely damaged with punching shear failure; 4) dynamic response ratio is about 2.8~2.9, irrespective of the magnitude of fiber mixing volume ratio Vf.
