The mission of newspapers is to offer a variety of important imformation for community life.A newspaper on regarding the Great East Japan earthquake which occurred on March 112011 was need to report necessary imformation correctly and speedily for people who sufferedfrom the severe damaged caused by the earthquake. The Ishinomaki hibi newspaper located Ishinomaki city in Miyagi prefecture decided toprovide a“ wall newspaper” offering information written on the wall in shelters. Because no newspaper was available right after the earthquake, the wall newspaper wasspecifi cally helpful for hundreds of people who lost homesand families by the tsunami disaster. Civic journalism exists in order to live co-exist with local residents who share mutualinformation for the common wealth.
