In 2011, Nara University of Education Junior High School has done “the School Garden Project”, some educational activities such as cultivation of vegetables and fruit, observation of floricultural plants, and outdoor activities　mainly in the school courtyard. The Environmental Committee and the Urayama Club in the school mainly proceeded the School Garden Project, encouraging the students to consider environmental problems and try to solve the　problems by themselves. In addition to the members of the Environmental Committee and the Urayama Club, there were many students who were non-members of them and voluntarily helped the members and the School Garden Project. The school regarded the School Garden Project as a part of ESD ,the primary concept of the school education.
