「自分を助けたのは人の縁だった」─湯之上隆氏は，自分の流転の半生を振り返ってそう語る。 同氏は，1987年に日立製作所に入社して2002年10月に退社するまでの16年半，半導体の微細加工技術の開発に従事した。中央研究所，半導体事業部，デバイス開発センター，エルピーダメモリ出向，半導体先端テクノロジーズ（セリート）出向と所属が移り変わった。
