Continuous Fiber Rope is made of Aramid fiber or Vinylon fiber and shaped in the form of rope as reinforcement for concrete members. It is characterized by a lightweight, a high tensile strength and an excellent durability. It has also a good transportability, and it is flexible to be easily arranged at a construction site. However, neither Continuous Fiber Rope has been applied to concrete structures, nor the evaluating method for this material has been established. Before, the tensile property of Aramid fiber rope with a small diameter, which had been manufactured for the experiments in a laboratory, was investigated. In this study, Aramid fiber rope with a five times larger diameter than that of the rope tested before was manufactured, and the tensile property was investigated. Through the experiments, the size effect on the tensile properties was recognized.
