It has been reported that the energy consumed in heat transporting equipments of air conditioning system accounts for about the half of that consumed in a whole air conditioning system of a commercial building. Recently, the heat transporting system with large temperature difference of heating medium has been the main one to decrease the power consumption of heat transportation. In order to decrease power consumption of the cool water transporting system more, the possibility of ice-water transporting system has been under examination.In this study, by adopting the electric resistance method to measure the IPF of slush ice-water flow in a tube, the experiments were conducted to examine the relationship between the volume ratio of ice and the electric resistance between electrodes installed in a tube. The simple and convenient IPF measuring system was constructed by proposing the shape of electrodes, the applying voltage conditions and the practical measuring electric circuit, Then it was found that the accuracy of the proposed IPF measuring system was almost the same as that of the weight method.
