When a point charge moves in the space with several metal electrodes, currents are induced in the lead wires connecting the electrodes, sources and the ground. The expression for these currents was given by Engel. He formalized the energy conversion relation by excluding two terms, i.e. the work done by the induced field and the energy of the electric field. In this paper, the two terms are proved to cancel out by using Green's theorem. Shockley obtained the same expession as Engel's using Green's reciprocity theorem for a multi-conductor system. The reason why the assumption he made but not justified in his paper holds is also shown here.
