Microstructure control of SiC ceramics using mechanical alloying method with mixture of Si, C, B_4C and W powders is discussed. By using the mechanical alloyed powder, SiC platelets and WB nano particles were successfully dispersed in the matrix and the SiC grains respectively, during sintering process. We believe that SiC-WB solid solution was generated during the mechanical alloying, and the WB worked as a growth enhancer of the SiC platelet.
