Previously we reported that a cBN/diamond solid solution has a polycrystalline structure and a homogeneous atomic composition in the submicron scale. In this work, we investigated a fine structure of the material using a FE-TEM/PEELS assemble system. As a result, We found that the elemental B, C, N atomes in a large crystal are imhomogeneously distributed on the lattice planes in the nm scales, which will be discussed in relation to the XRD result. This material is considerably more stable than diamond in high temperatures of air. This high heat resistance would be related to the characteristic fine structure.
