L10-FeNi films were grown by alternate monatomic layer deposition on Au--Cu--Ni buffer layers at several substrate temperatures (T_{\text{s}}), and the relation between the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy energy (K_{\text{u}}) and the long-range chemical order parameter (S) was investigated. A large K_{\text{u}} of (7.0 \pm 0.2) \times 10^{6} erg/cm3 and S of 0.48 \pm 0.05 were obtained. The value of K_{\text{u}} was larger than those reported previously for artificially synthesized FeNi films. It was first found that both K_{\text{u}} and S increased with T_{\text{s}}, and K_{\text{u}} was roughly proportional to S.
