Molecular images of human epithelial cells are obtained without any treatment by ultrabroadband multiplex coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) microspectroscopy. Based on a spectral analysis of the multiplex CARS spectra, only the vibrationally resonant signals are successfully extracted. The CARS images at the C–H stretch vibrational mode clearly show the cell membrane, nucleus, and membranous organelle such as mitochondria.
